Synth’s and samplers

  • Kurzweil K2500X AES, the Audio Elite System, all options installed. Only six of these beauties have been made!
  • Roland MKB-1000, an old timer (1984), but it’s got the best keyboard action (wooden keys), never played on something more playable
  • Roland RD-1000, vintage stage piano, like the MKB-1000 a joy to play (slightly heavier keyboard action), onboard sounds, the e-piano’s are classic, not a copy of a Rhodes, but very dynamic and warm, especially when you use it with the built-in analog chorus!
  • Roland MK-80, Roland’s first Rhodes emulation from 1989
  • Akai MX-1000 master keyboard
  • Akai PG-5 mini grand electric piano, beautiful crafted, piano samples aren’t on par with it’s looks, but the speaker system is quite adequate for monitoring purposes in the studio. Nice action keyboard, although no wooden keys…
  • Roland Juno 60 (MIDI-fied), punchy!
  • Roland JX-10, warm, full bodied sound. My favorite synth for pads.

  • Yamaha YC-45D combo organ
  • Yamaha PSR-6300 FM keyboard
  • Yamaha PS-30, analog keyboard

  • Kurzweil K1000 Ensemble rack
  • Roland MKS-20, a classic, rack version of the RD-1000 (see above)
  • E-mu E4XT Ultra with Orbit/Phatt ROM card, RFX32 and ADAT boards. Great sounding filters
  • Roland S-750, one of the best sounding hardware samplers, years ahead of it’s time
  • Roland SP-700, sample player version of the above with double the memory (32 MB), but DA convertors aren’t up the same leage
  • Roland S-550 (2x), 12 bit sampler, breeze to use with monitor/mouse/remote controller. Nice filters
  • Roland S-330 (2x), same as above, half the memory
  • Roland S-10 12 bit sampling keyboard
  • Akai S3000XL, good workhorse
  • Akai S1100, updated version of the S1100 with beter converters, effects board and other extra’s.
  • Akai S1000HD, sounds rawer than the Roland S-750, I like it for drums and basses
  • Akai S950, it cost me an arm and a leg back then (bought it new when I was 15 in 1990), unfortunately it doesn’t get used that much any more, but I will never sell it….

  • Korg S3, not so well known drumcomputer/sequencer, has some usable electronic kits
